Why Hyundai Elantra

DESIGN DETAILS.With Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture design language, the Elantra sedan bucks conventional styles in a big way. The car offers fashion-forward features like wraparound projector headlights with LED accents, front fog lights and LED rear tail lights, and a wheelbase that gives it a lower, sportier profile.
A Design Philosophy Like No Other. When we designed the Elantra sedan, we incorporated the energy and movement found in nature's contours into its silhouette. It's a unique style we call Fluidic Sculpture. And its benefits go far beyond striking good looks. By using natural forms, we've actually made our vehicles lighter, more aerodynamic, more energy efficient.
POWER AND FUEL EFFICIENCY UNITED BY TECHNOLOGY.The 145-hp, lightweight, high-tech engine, standard on the SE, Value Edition and the Limited, generates 130 lb.-ft. of torque. It also gives the Elantra sedan more standard horsepower than the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.* And the Elantra Sport's 2.0L GDI engine kicks the power up to 173 horsepower and 154 lb.-ft. of torque.

Go Farther With An EPA-estimated 38 MPG Highway*With two highly efficient 4-cylinder engines and a more responsive 6-speed transmission, the Elantra sedan can take you farther on less fuel. With an EPA-estimated 38 MPG on the highway.

Elantra Sport: Get To The Fun, Faster. Its 173-hp 2.0L engine, special 17-inch alloy wheels and sport-tuned suspension and steering make it the perfect choice for a freeway on-ramp or your favorite twisty, two-lane back road.

Advanced 6-speed Automatic Transmission. The sophisticated technology in the Elantra sedan's available 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® improves durability and reduces weight. So you can enjoy better fuel efficiency with smoother acceleration on the highway. And a healthy balance of power and comfort for navigating in-town traffic.

Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM)* Get a greater sense of control and satisfaction at the wheel courtesy of Hyundai's innovative Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM). Standard on the Elantra Limited, this feature lets you select one of three operating modes-Comfort, Normal or Sport-and adapt the steering characteristics to a range of driving preferences.

We're always looking for ways to help keep you safe behind the wheel. That's why we've added an available driver's blind spot mirror and loaded the Elantra sedan with active safety features to help prevent accidents, plus advanced passive safety features in case an accident can't be avoided.

Added Confidence, Even On Hills. The comprehensive Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system kicks in to help give you more control when you need it most. The VSM links Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Motor-Driven Power Steering (MDPS) to help provide optimal stability, improve brake performance and acceleration or even increase steering power. Hillstart Assist Control (HAC) gives you added confidence by minimizing vehicle roll back when starting from a stop on an incline.

Control The Road With ESC NHTSA studies show passenger cars equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) experience 35% fewer single-vehicle crashes, and 30% fewer single-vehicle fatalities. ESC helps compensate for over or understeering by predicting your intended path and applying just the right amount of braking force to individual wheels to help you maintain control.

More Traction For An Improved Grip ESC also includes a Traction Control System (TCS). When roads get slick, TCS kicks in to help reduce wheelspin and helps give you the stable acceleration you need. So even when the weather gets bad, Traction Control will help give you a commanding performance on the road.

More Control Over Every Wheel when you hit the brakes hard, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) automatically calculates the force of the vehicle and delivers just the right amount of braking power to each individual wheel to help keep you in control.

More Airbags Keep You Safe. Despite all of the Elantra sedan's advanced preventative safety features, sometimes accidents are just unavoidable. That's why we've loaded the sedan's interior with six front, side-impact and side-curtain airbags to help keep you and your passengers safe.
