Why Hyundai Sonata

One drive and you'll get it... schedule a test drive at Patrick Hyundai

There's a reason why we can back our vehicles with America's best warranty. Every Hyundai is tested in the world's most extreme driving conditions. Before they go to the dealership, we make sure everything from the paint job to the powertrain will stand the test of time.
For a deeper understanding of how the Sonata delivers rewarding ride and handling performance on the road, consider these suspension and chassis upgrades. New aluminum front and rear suspension components offer weight reduction and strength. While a dual lower arm rear suspension enhances braking and stability during high speed maneuvers. In addition, road noise has been reduced through improved vehicle chassis rigidity and soundproofing materials

Advanced Twin-scroll Turbo
The manifold and turbine housing of the Sonata 2.0T twin-scroll turbo is one cast stainless-steel piece. Its highly advanced design helps minimize lag and makes this powerplant lighter than a conventional turbo engine while putting out 245 horsepower. Specifically engineered to recover even more energy from the exhaust than a single-scroll turbocharger, the Sonata's turbo improves combustion efficiency, and provides low-engine-speed efficiency.

Steering Feel Meets Freedom Of Choice
Everybody has a different take on steering feel. Some want more steering effort, others less. Well, with Drive Mode Select, you get to choose. Drive Mode Select adjusts both engine mapping and steering effort to match your driving style. Select from three modes: Eco, Normal or Sport by simply touching a button on the center console.

Sonata Turbo: Performance Details
The Sonata Sport 2.0T and Limited 2.0T trim levels start with 18-inch alloy wheels and larger front brakes plus modified suspension and steering to deliver a sportier ride and increased steering response. A larger rear stabilizer bar reduces body roll and improves handling on curves. Stylish quad exhaust set in a sporty rear diffuser make the most of the turbocharged engine, while paddle shifters mounted on the D-cut leather-wrapped steering wheel put it all at the driver's fingertips.

Sonata Eco: The Efficiency Expert
Those who seek high levels of driving efficiency will immediately love the Sonata Eco. Its 1.6L turbocharged engine delivers power through an advanced automatic 7-speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The result is impressive EPA-estimated 38 MPG highway.

The Automatic Emergency Braking system uses both a camera and radar sensor. If a crash is imminent and the driver does not react, the system deploys Automatic Emergency Braking. The system can even apply full brake-force stopping power from 5 to 50 mph.

Blind Spot Detection2 with Rear Cross-traffic Alert3 and Lane Change Assist4
This available radar-based system helps detect when a vehicle is in the driver's blind spot and provides both an audible and a visual alert to help keep you aware as you move down the road. When reverse gear is selected, Rear Cross-traffic Alert helps identify and warn the driver of vehicles approaching from the side. Lane Change Assist measures the closing speed of an approaching vehicle in the adjacent lane to determine if changing lanes is safe and if it's not, gives the driver an audible and visual warning.

Driver's Knee Airbag7
This standard feature offers added protection for the driver and is just one more innovative element of Sonata's comprehensive passive and active safety systems.Electronic Parking Brake
To set this feature, just push the button located on the center console below the shifter. When the available Electronic Parking Brake is set, it disengages automatically once the gas pedal is depressed. And there's an Automatic Vehicle Hold feature that will engage the parking brake automatically after the brake is depressed, without your foot on the pedal.
